this was probably the most excited I've ever been for a game, I watched this trailer in class every day, I taught myself to play the music, I had my team all planned out
I did have a lot of fun playing through the game, I think the campaign was legitimately good but it it fell flat 3 days later when I started the postgame and realized how boring the region was and how much I missed the PSS
I spent a few hundred hours in the Battle Tree but the whole time I was thinking of how much fun I had in Unova a few years ago. I never ran out of things to do in BW2 and even BW had a lot of stuff. XY and ORAS were pretty empty (XY more so) but it was still fun to just run around the region. Alola is so shit you can't even have fun doing that.
god why can't Game Freak make good games anymore. It wouldn't even take that much effort to add the things Pokémon needs to be good again. Just spend time making the Battle Frontier and adding extra areas instead of making things no one cares about like the Poké Finder and the Festival Plaza
I still love Pokémon but I'm frustrated with the direction the 3DS games have taken
