>>52101890>>52101845I am absolutely in love with Kilowattrel and I’m just hopeful that its surgically precise toolkit is solid enough for it to be competitively relevant. It truly got everything it needs for its niche, with the combo of never-miss STAB Thunder and Hurricane, actually getting the now rare again Weather Ball as a strong coverage move, speedy Volt Switch or U-turn for pivoting, and Volt Absorb for a key rain team immunity. You could even go with Competitive for the free boosts in VGC format.
I just hope that it isn’t let down by being a one-tricky pony. To me, it seems like it has enough on offer to become a staple for rain teams, but its dependence on keeping the weather up and its “good but not great” stats could conceivably let it down. Then again, I remember everyone thinking that Gale Wings was a gimmick and that Talonflame’s low offensive stats and inherent linearity would keep it from being too useful. This is all theorymon at this point, but it would be awesome to see Kilowattrel performing well in the inevitable weather wars this generation.
