If you add that to the horrible lack of fire types on D/P, boring routes like the infinite mount coronet/ ice routes/ the stupid great marsh (where you can get literally stuck in the mud) and most good pokemons being available only in the postgame, then you have arguably the worst main games in the pokemon franchise.
Platinum solved some of these problems, but the slow thing remained.
