I admit that metagame has improved a lot since Gen 2, but better metagame!=better game. And Gen 2 alone was already a huge improvement since Gen 1 in that regard.
Now tell me, how improved Gen 3 contests are? Gen 4 underground? Gen 5 entralink? They don't even exist anymore. Any major new feature is just a gimmick, bound to be discarded next gen. Anybody seriously expects pokemon-amie to return in Gen 7? If we still have customization we'll be lucky.
Meanwhile, pretty much everything that G/S/C did still remains, and is improved with each iteration. Objectively worst gen, I guess.
