I remember getting a lime green GBC from somewhere and having Pokemon Blue. It was fun, but I was very little and couldn't really into video games. I remember always starting with Squirtle because I thought if you got the same one on the box it was more powerful that the others. I watched the show too, as any little kid at the time did.
Then sometime around my 7th birthday, I remember seeing a commercial for Pokemon Crystal and I instantly fell in love with Suicune. But not in the weird furfag way, in the little kid >I WANT THAT THING AND I WANT TO GO ON ALL THE ADVENTURES WITH IT AND BE AWESOME way. A week after my birthday I got an atomic purple GBC, Pokemon Crystal, and Pokemon Puzzle Challenge, and those were the things that got me seriously into Pokemon, and the rest is history.
Ever since then Kris is my favourite character and Suicune is my favourite pokemon, if only for dragging me into this rollercoaster ride of a series. Pokemon is the only thing that seems to make me feel genuinely happy or to really look forward to nowadays. I always feel like I'm 7 again when playing a new Pokemon game.
