>>51626441The problem with HGSS is they fuck up a lot of the soundtrack, especially the Kanto songs. Fire Red and Leaf Green had amazing gen 3 version of Kanto songs that were a perfect mix of R/S/E brass and Kanto 8-bit sounds. HGSS takes the life out of several themes like Celadon City for example. Also, as others have pointed out Hoenn is still the best map/route designed game they ever made where as Gen 2 is beautiful but uneven and makes sacrifices to include Kanto. IMO Emerald is still the peak, but the main thing that gives HGSS a chance as the best is simply the following Pokémon. In general I actual prefer Crystal for the better music and more iconic sprites.
