Best advice would be to become familiar with some of the more wideranging trolling and memes, like the "Charizard sucks" one. It doesn't take more than a few seconds on Bulbapedia or just having one in your party in the games to see that Charizard is one of the best Pokemon in the entire game, and an extremely dangerous foe to come up against. Now in Generation VI, Fire-type resists Fairy, making him an even larger threat, while shielding him from Fairy's super-effective advantage against "Dragon"-types. Charizard represents /true/ Dragons, and with Mega Charizard, he'll probably be the best Pokemon of all by a staggeringly wide margin.
