Hello /vp/. Let's do a Poketheories/mythos thread. I'll start it off.
It has been brought to my attention that a number of anons believe that Arceus, Zygarde, and Volcanion are related in some way to the Hindu Gods/deities. I will provide what I've found.
Arceus - Related to Vishnu. Arceus' D/P/HG/SS dex entry states that it "crafted the universe with its thousand arms" Although this is similar moreso to Brahma (who possesses a thousand arms), Vishnu possesses "a thousand names" which can relate Arceus' plate typings. Also, its move Judgement was said to resemble the "thousand arms" which it used to create the universe.
Zygarde - Related to Ananta Sesha. Ananta is a snake with a thousand heads that is usually depicted with 5 to 7 crowned heads. Ananta is said to exist in an ocean at the bottom of the universe, protecting Vishnu with its thousand heads. Zygarde's new leaked moves Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves can trace back to Ananta's thousand heads, and the ocean where it is found. If these theories hold true, and Zygarde gets a new forme, it might have 5 to 7 crowned heads to represent Ananta. Zygarde also has 5 thingy-majigs sticking out of the back of its head
