>>57865502Many things, but mostly that it wasn't a remotely natural progression of Ash's strength and clearly just existed so they could quickly end the ashnime. He went from going 6 regions without winning a league tournament, to finally winning a tournament by winning a shitty one that barely counted, to suddenly defeating all champions and becoming the strongest trainer in the world despite never even getting to fight the elite four in any of the previous seasons.
Some other big issues:
>ash not using a team of his best mons from previous regions (dogshit way to end a long running anime) >leon being a shitty character nobody cared about and a complete literal who final boss for Ash>goh>iris randomly becoming champion out of nowhere despite being nowhere near that level before. Her being champion in the games is not a valid reason>almost none of Ash's many friends cheering him on other than Dawn>ash getting a fucking handicap during the final battle meaning that he didn't even legitimately defeat his final opponent in the series (ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?)>alain showing up as if anybody cares about himI haven't even actively watched the Ashnime since Sinnoh outside of a couple highlights, but I'm still amazed by how badly they ended it. At this point I'm almost surprised that they at least let Pikachu get the final victory instead of somehow fucking even that up. It's really impressive just how bad Journeys was.
