>>52571744Even though I hate the stupid fucking floating walk/run cycle, I have to admit, they put a fuck ton of thought into this design.
>Sitting pose evocative of commanding shoguns/classic Kurosawa films in which the leader issues commands to underlings>Massive blade headpiece that flows with Bisharp's well established blade motif, and compliments the insanely ornate kabutos samurai with higher status would wear. Using this as it's main signature attack also puts it in a natural kneeling pose, which fits the underhanded tactics on display, fitting of the Dark type>Wretched oni-like mouth which fits the Dark type, alongside mouthpieces samurai would wear>torso blades fashioned into haramaki, traditional japanese torso garb>The arm blades shortened and the forearms becoming gold to symbolize heightened status >bladed mustache, again another common design found on kabutos>Long hair that resembles a cape/cloak>Finally, with the massive horn, antennae-like mustache, carapace-like hair, and the outstretched torso blades giving the illusion of 8 limbs, Kingambit has a vague beetle-like silhouette. Not only are various insects, esp the Japanese Rhinoceros beetles associated with samurai, but Bisharp was stated to have an unintentional insect-like quality to its design by Ken SugimoriI still desperately wish it would stand up and walk like a normal fucking creature, but they managed to pack a LOT in here while making it look very cohesive. Even on a non-referential level, having the long cape does a lot of heavy lifting in the design to balance out the comically large head pieces.
