You should be able to turn it on and play for 2 minutes and then be able to turn it back off again in a couple seconds. The 3ds takes about a minute to boot up and enter a game, and pressing the power button and selecting "power off" takes way too long. It should be able to immediately start and stop the game like the old game boy systems. I love the newer games, but it's just annoying to have to trade fancy graphics for an annoying interface.
Also, only being able to register one 3ds system on your Nintendo Network id or whatever it is is ridiculous. My 2ds broke recently and I'm using a hand-me-down that never really got used, but now I can't play the two games that I downloaded and have no way of accessing them again. I'd rather make the handhelds completely unable to download something than have this hassle.
