I think the things that really kept me invested were how it showcased that bond, then used it to explore the characters' romance, as well as how it posed a lot of questions about Pokemon in society. I read Scholar's Folly afterwards which is pretty good but I don't feel does quite as good a job of really exploring what that psychic bond means.
>>40739359It sort of is, isn't it? It's nice to think about somebody sending nice feelings to you or knowing when you feel bad, but what about somebody who knows absolutely everything you think? Somebody you can never lie to, and who knows all the embarassing or gross things about you that you're ashamed of? I've been thinking about it a lot and honestly don't know if I could do it.
