Then the following year, Gen 7 starts. Gen 4 re-makes on the other hand, are a little more skeptical.
Assuming we are correct about Gen 1 being re-made, this would mean that every single Generation will be playable on the DS. Literally every single one can be put into your latest 3/2DS and played no problem.
So why bother remake 4? It's not visually outdated. By that logic, Gen 2 would need to be remade in Gen 7 too. There's no way that GF will follow this pattern and start to re-make two Gens each new Generation. Re-making Gen 1 in two years would be an exception because it would be the 20th anniversary, as well as the fact that it would mean every Gen is playable on the latest DS model.
Honestly, after the Gen 3, and probable Gen 1 re-makes, they might not be re-making another game for a LOOOOONG time, if ever.
It's a shame, because I am just stating the facts here, I'd rather go back to Sinnoh than Hoenn OR Kanto
