Some faggots, mostly /f/ fucked this rule sideways, attracting some traffic, especially with sides like Encyclopedia Dramatica , which fucking fought against Wikipedia for the Best Wiki award once and won.
Back then, this was managebel and telling the new guys to stop being retarded usualy worked (while including a picture of Goatse or Hai2u, just to play it safe), but nowadays with Social Media being the rage, any kind of publicity is an issue.
