>>52610052Some good highs, some horrible lows.
>Path of LegendsSurprisingly good for a Pokemon game. It started off really meh but I really grew to like Arven and I ended up ignoring the other two routes just to finish Arven's route.
The Totem-like Pokemon battles were fun, the Earth Titan was neat foreshadowing to Area Zero.
The final battle felt like a neat ribbon to top off what I think is the best of the 3 paths.
>Victory RoadGym Leaders were really hit or miss. On one hand, Iono felt irritating to read through, but on the other, Larry was a neat surprise and me accidentally using Will-o-Wisp on his Staraptor was a good shock to the system.
The Elite Four was OK. I wish the quiz you took determined the third member you fight.
Nemona was annoying, her entire thing is "heybattleheyiwannabattlelolbattlemepls" and I honestly think some of the gym leaders have more character than her.
>Starfall StreetThe only saving grace this path has is Clive being unintentionally comical at times. Apart from that,
>>52613339 puts it perfectly. I have no reason to care about these characters because I'm not really given a reason to.
Penny's battle is a complete joke.
>Area ZeroDefinitely one of the best finales among Pokemon games, which I really didn't expect. Being able to take detours to catch Paradoxes, little tidbits of lore Arven drops alongside the random Paradox Pokemon attacking your group felt really interesting because they were stuff you'd never seen before.
Then there's Penny and Nemona being complete assholes to Arven for NO reason. Arven talks about how he had a traumatic experience where his Mabosstiff almost died and all Nemona cares about is "wowie zowie sounds strong i wanna fight it :DDDD" and Penny spouts Marvel-tier quotes like "Oh boy it's backstory time". I've never had such whiplash experiencing a Pokemon game.
The final battle was set up perfectly, with the professor dropping Paradoxes in Master Balls. Really cool ending, imo.
