Feel free to play around with the unmarked ledges, I'm not totally sold on their current position but something good could probably come from them. Add trees if you want to teach the player about dead ends.
I'd personally put the lab on a higher ridge to warrant the stairs, and make the stairs 1 tile wide to match up properly with the door, it looks weird with there being 2.
