Stop hoping the games will get better - they won't, and here's why

Pandering to nostalgiafags is always the first sign that a franchise is going down the drain. It happens all the time in dying movie franchises, especially horror genre. The fact that GF has started to shill Gen 1 so badly in the last two gens shows that Pokemon has begun to flatline and needs Gen 1 nostalgia as life support. It's evidence that GF don't believe they can sell Pokemon on the basis of game quality anymore.
Take last year, for example, they managed to sell the absolute shtifest that was S/M to normies because they propped it up with GO and the 20th anniversary, both were practically Gen 1 exclusive events at the beginning and everyone went crazy for it. S/M's record sales can be attributed solely to this, and I guarantee that US/UM's sales will tank in comparison because there is no longer any Gen 1 nostalgia to back them up.
This will confirm one thing in GF's eyes - that game quality doesn't matter, as long as Gen 1 is shoved in there somewhere so the normies feel nostalgic and become interested in buying the game. This will be their plan going forward, and the games will continue to decline in quality until normies finally realize that buying shit purely for Gen 1 nostalgia is a waste of money and time. Once this 'strategy' is exhausted, unless GF finally tries to innovate and create decent quality games again, the series will be dead in ten more years.
