Do I just suck, or is Gaia not intended to be played without using potions in battle? I'm getting my ass kicked. I've wiped to Aria twice, once to a random guy with two Tangelas in Frostbite Cave (only had a Prinplup and Quagsire thanks to Aria), and once to Eunice in Frostbite Cave (only had a Crobat thanks to Aria). I got to Swablu Tower in this run, but I got destroyed by some old lady with a team full of dragons, at least two of whom knew Dragon Rage.
As you can see, the real stumbling block is Aria. Beating her just seems like it comes down to dumb luck because Chatot outspeeds everything that poses any real threat since you can't get Jolteon yet. If I could catch a Whismur, it wouldn't be able to use Chatter, but somehow I keep getting stuck with Spinarak. As far as I can tell, the only early game Pokemon who can outspeed are Linoone, Swoobat, and Crobat. You have to get lucky to get Zubat, and Woobat comes so late that it'll probably be overleveled by the time it evolves.
