There was a big r*ddit post about how much buffing increases your damage. Surprisingly, buffs don't work like in the main games. Stat buffs work like so
>Stat buffs multiply the stat in question by 1.25 / 1.4 / 1.5 / 1.6 / 1.7 / 1.8 at +1 through +6.
Crit works like so
>Critical Hit chances only go up to +3. Instead of diminishing returns, crit buffs have exponential returns. Normally, your crit chance is 1/24, or slightly above 4%. At +1, that goes up to 1/8, or 12.5%. At +2, it becomes 1/2, an even 50%, and at +3, you will always crit.
They also posted a few charts comparing damage of various actions, this is the most useful one. It seems like double buffing is optimal if you can guarantee you get at least 5 attacks, aka if you can hit unity. Hitting 2 unities will have a world of difference if you're double buffed because you can squeeze in a few more attacks. The chart seems basically correct to me, with uncoordinated pubs on Blaine double buffing feels like a mistake because you can't delay taking down the Beedrill or Masquerain.
