That point is not necessary but I like it because it fits the flavour of pokemon IMO. i.e. the portagonist getting caught up in things he/she has nothing to do with and being in the wrong/right place at the wrong/right time. Think about it, why is a child/teenager trusted with saving the world from evil organisations in every pokemon game? why aren't the police doing anything? But I hope you don't vote for/against any plot due to a single plot point used that can be easily changed.
On another note, does anyone actually want pic related in/related to the plot, or do we just have him as a side character that hints his
immortality?
