>>22364699Hitting up Smogon for the current on the competitive scene is an alright idea. It's good for some tips and tricks for Pokemon you're unfamiliar with or want to patch up on, and it can give you a good idea of what to expect.
A lot of people play the OverUsed tier, but you can play just about any of them.
There's also VGC or doubles, but I'm less familiar with that.
And by all means, be picky about who you listen too. There's a number of infamous youtubers who don't have a clue but think they do, for instance.
