At least then, they have a way to let out their creativity in a way that's much more harmless than wearing dresses or applying makeup. If you start policing even what they can draw, they'll turn out to be edgy and turn against everything you say.
Also, Mulan was great to watch as a kid. It was the one disney princess movie I wasn't embarrassed to watch as a young boy.
