i did 2 things before the e4: one, i grabbed the den capture in victory road, necrozma, and in cerulean cave, xurkitree, if bosses are going to use legends and shit i think i'm justified in using them. two, i maxed all IVs, then went after so many level 80 audinos in victory road. with enough grinding, you can bypass the level cap, which is 85, and also the level of every single pokemon the e4/champion use (they don't level scale), i NEED to be a few levels above the competition.
the e4 is so bullshit. it's so, so bullshit. but, i formulated a plan for each, which unfortunately means i can't really lose anyone by the end. it's also a bit of a pain since each e4 member optionally heals you fully after the fight and if anyone dies i can't restore my PP due to limited ethers/elixirs. anyway.
vs. Lorelei
Her team: Politoed, Ludicolo, Kingdra, Mega Swampert, Dracovish, and PRIMAL FUCKING KYOGRE
Lorelei is inarguably the toughest battle in the E4 proper for one reason - it's a double battle, so many things could go wrong.
She sends out Ludicolo and Politoed, I send in Sharma and Julie, who's immediately swapped for Haydn for Aurora Veil while Sharma mega evolves. I basically need Sharma to set up a ton of CMs then sweep with Psychic, but the Politoed can Encore lock me into spamming Calm Mind and then the AI can wear me down when I can't heal. So, essentially, to win this battle with no deaths, Haydn had to hit and keep sleep on the Politoed, while also swapping periodically into Reed and Desty so I could survive Dracovish and Mega Swampert and tank one attack from Primal Kyogre, who has both Water Spout and Origin Pulse.
And that...happened, somehow, the Politoed managed to drain Sharma of all of his Slack Offs, but I did manage to sweep the majority of the team with Sharma, eventually leaving just the Politoed, and having left Julie and Klein on the bench they were able to come in safely and beat it.
fuck me man
