The steel evo being a troglodyte (a creature that loves living in caves) and the fire being a minotaur (a creature that wants to leave the cave).
There are some old bull designs that got rejected, and one of a fat beast with large horns that is sort of bull like. I think it got rejected since anons wanted a lethe/bulky schtick to set the evos apart as well. Attempts to make it thinner did not go over well once anatomy fled the scene.
