Instead we got some weird quadrupedal thing that still tries to fight with a sword, because Game Freak decided "Hey, you know what's an inseperable, necessary part of the samurai? The horse it's riding on. We need to have that horse be part of this Pokemon's design."
Hell, if you really need to, go ahead and bulk it up to make it more muscular, and give it the funky headdress. But fuck off with the quadrupedal, he's supposed to fight with a sword, not even the anime could make that work.
