how much of Pokemon is actually lost in translation when adapted to western cultures? I don't mean names, like Kamex becomes Blastoise, but more culturally sensible things, like the Johto region and Japanese religion. A good example of what I am meaning is Naruto or One Piece, which to a western is just wacky Japanese stuff, but in Japan is like moon people are part of older tales like the Daughter of the Bamboo Cutter and similar stuff.
