>>36334178I think someone mentioned it briefly before in the thread, but for some reason Ride Pokemon kind of killed the experience of going back around the region and exploring it in depth. It just feels so, artificial if that makes sense? I credit them for switching up the formula for Generation 7, but the execution was really off since Alola as a whole was smaller than it seemed and there were a lot of limitations to the landscape, or in general the landscape felt barren. For example the first town like area on Island 1 has a long row of buildings to make the game seem fuller, but you can only access like 2 of them.
Back to what I was saying though, Unova basically mastered this sense of exploration and adventure by allowing you to essentially travel through the region without the usage of HM's. However, after you get the required HM they reward you by opening up entirely new optional paths for fun. This formula would have been mastered if they simply allowed HM's to be erasable without the need of the Move Deleter, so I hope Generation 8 follows up on this.
