>>48690064This is a fallacious argument. Not only did RS have an objectively larger regional dex (202 vs. 151), but far fewer Pokemon were locked behind time-based gimmicks. In DP you have to grind honey trees to get Heracross, Cherrim, Wormadam, Mothim, Vespiquen, etc., play on Friday to get Drifloon, or talk to a ridiculous number of people in the underground to get a Spiritomb. Moreover, the hardest Pokemon to obtain in the Hoenn regional dex is Feebas, which is even harder to obtain in Sinnoh. On the other hand, the hardest Pokemon to obtain in the Sinnoh dex is Munchlax, which is so difficult to find that most people give up and just Pal Park over a Snorlax from Kanto after beating the game and breed it with a Full Incense. The simple fact is that you simply have far more variety in making teams in RS than you do in DP prior to the Elite Four. I'm not a fan of Sinnoh or Hoenn, but Sinnohfetuses who only play Platinum and never try replays of DP should stop being in denial.
Here's a list of fully evolved Fire, Electric, Ice, Dragon, Ghost and Rock Pokemon (-starters, time-based gimmicks, and trade evolutions) available in Ruby vs. Diamond before the Elite Four. I thought Sinnoh would at least outdo Hoenn in terms of dragon types since Kingdra is a trade evolution and Lati@s and Rayquaza are locked behind the postgame in RS, but I was wrong even there.
