Personally I don't think they gave enough weight to Garchomp mega evolving. It was sort of a plot point in the first episode where Ash asked "So Garchomp could Mega Evolve too?" and Sycamore says, "maybe. That's my research!"
And then we see Garchomp, a fucking pseudo, mega evolve, and there's about 1 frame of him in full form (pic) and not so much as Manon saying "Sugoi! I can't believe Garchomp mega evolves! Incredible!"
Also as if Xzard could survive a fucking dragon rush from megachomp.
