I do really like the spritework in B/W and latley I'm asking myself, if I could do animated sprite in this quality as well. Did they ever give an interview about how they worked on this? Or better some work fotage? I'm pretty curious to know! Also after seeing the new Guilty Gear animation I keep wondering if such an aproach would've worked for Pokémon as well, to keep both sides satisfied.

Don't forget the DS is a low res steaming pile of shit compared to the 3DS which is a slightly higher res polished turd. Gen 5 was pushing the DS hardware to its absolute limit.

They have more lively and have more personality to them than the 3D models. I also prefer the 2D, more cartoony look of the sprites.
