When I was in the 2nd grade, I found a magazine at my local 7-11 that showed all the new jhoto pokemon with their japanese names. I was really excited and showed everyone at school. Became kind of popular with the pokemon group for awhile because of it.
I honestly cant tell you why I ended up loving Magcargo OP. As a kid I saw him in the book and something about the lava snail really interested me. When I came back to playing pokemon in the 4th gen when i was older I got my hands on a Magcargo and those feelings came back. So I guess you could say he is a childhood favorite. Its nice to have a fully IV'd Magcargo I bred myself for once.
