>>39603183The regions definitely show some potential but they always come off as rushed and undercooked, also when i think of full of life "NPCs that stand around or walk in circles all day" like they did in the gameboy games is not what come to my mind, games have evolved past that and so should Pokemon if they want immerse players in the Pokemon world
>that are problems of the structure of the game, not of the regions themselvesthe structure of the game directly effects how the region is portraid as well, maybe it's just because they stopped basing the regions after their own country but the design never seems as genuine, it looks more like every time they draw a circle and progressively fill up things as they go and everything is set like a big movie stage
And of course the infamous hallways and NPCs roadblocks out of the ass (though i'll admit they definitely started this with Hoenn and Sinnoh even though they are some of my fav regions, i guess the roadblocks weren't nearly as aggressive as they are now)
