Let me explain something to you. This game IS made for kids. No matter how hard you want it to be catered to your old, bitter, and cynical mind, it just won't.
This isn't a matter of 'shutting your brain off'. It's about letting yourself have fun again. Yes, the technical aspects of the game aren't really up to par in some areas. But that doesn't have to ruin this game for you.
Thousands of children are going to get this game, and they're going to have the time of their lives playing a fun, cute little Pokemon game. And they're not gonna care about all those technical aspects that you continue to sing the praises of.
And while other people on /vp are out replaying the old games to pass the time until the next game comes out.
Meanwhile me, and many other people will be playing this brand new game, while still getting to experience that same familiar magic that brought us into the series in the first place.
