People just like to hate on Lucario because it is popular.
They can't whitstand that from the very moment it was created everyone liked it, we first learnt about it in PMD and wondered who that mystical hero could be. Then the trailer for its movie came out, and we all saw him for the first time. That short trailer was everything it needed to become one of the most loved pokemon. After that, we went to see the movie and we laughed, cryed and held our breaths along our new blue best friend. Soon after that, D/P came out and we wanted a Lucario in our teams. Eagerly, we looked for him until we found out that trainer that gave us an egg. What a surprise it was when it turned out to be a Riolu! It instantly became a member of our party and most likely the strongest pokemon in it. We got to great lengths togheter: we fought Cyrus, we caught Dialga/Palkia, and then we faced the E4 and Cynthia, who also had a Lucario. It was the ultimate test.
GameFreak was wonderful with us and didn't force us to say goodbye to such a formidable partner and friend, making it so we could easily get a Riolu in BW/2. We were once again reunited!
And then we saw it, Pokemon X and Y. Mega evolutions, and in that lousy corocoro leak we saw that our friend still had more for us. We started playing the games, we either got a Riolu as soon as we could, or we used Korrina's Lucario, the one that got an interest in us from the very beginning. We conquered mega evolution togheter and after that, there wasn't any challenge we couldn't overcome togheter.
I'm really sorry for you, the ones who hate on such a reliable companion, and a dear friend.
