There are those certain people that up and down deny that johto/kanto/whatever had any problems because they had fond memories of it.
It just so happens more people like that started with GSC than RBY to the point where being a genwunner is ridiculed as fuck, whereas if you say the same about johto, a lot more people will actually defend their nostalgic memories.
