I don't care if it's a sequel to X and Y or a third game, but all I ask for is that it's a single game, perhaps an enhancement with some sequel-like element.
Back in 2010 I skipped Black and White because like everyone else I (thought I) knew there was gonna be a third version (Grey). The only reason we got paired sequels is because we didn't get a remake of R/S in Gen V like everyone had also expected. It's also because Gen V is considered to be a 100% new Pokémon game - completely separate region from Gens I-IV (all four regions are Japan while Unova is the United States), no evolutions to past-gen Pokémon etc.
In 2013 I skipped X and Y as well DESPITE what happened in Gen V. And now look what happened: we got our RS remakes, there IS a legendary Pokémon that is shaped like the letter Z and whose name begins with the letter Z, and sits right after Xerneas and Yveltal in the Pokédex.
I don't want to buy a game only to find out two years later that a more enhanced version of the game is going to be released. In the end I don't buy the new game while feeling the buttfuck of already having completed one of the first two while knowing I could've had a much better experience by first playing the third version.
I loved Black 2, but all I want is a single game to follow. I want to get the best of Gen VI /first/ by playing Z.
No one ever said it has to be an "enhancement" of X/Y. Perhaps an enhancement with sequel-like elements? That'd be the best way to go. You'd have everything that happened in X and Y (except both legends are in the game) with the added Zygarde plot like ORAS and the Delta Episode. Or it could be a direct sequel in a single-game form. Mega Zygarde as the mascot. Give it both Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves to break it like they did with Mega RayRay.
I just want a single fucking third game, whether direct sequel or enhancement. It really isn't difficult to do.
