The more I play Reg G, the more I realize there is a huge disparity between the Restricted Pokemon. Pokemon like Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, and Dialga are not on the same tier as Calyrex, Miraidon, and Zamazenta. So let's brainstorm, how do we buff the lesser Restricted Pokemon such that they are in-line with the high end ones without being so overpowered they over-centralize. Some ideas I've thrown around:
>Mewtwo
Replace Unnerve with an ability that lets it ignore its opponent's hold item completely. Berries won't proc. Mewtwo's attacks would ignore the special defense buff from Assault Vest. Mewtwo could OHKO a Pokemon with a Focus Sash. Mewtwo would still job to anything faster than 130 base speed but at least now it could have a niche.
>Ho-Oh
Give it Revival Blessing. It's thematically fitting and right now Entei brings Ho-Oh's niche to the table without using your Restricted spot so it'd at least give you incentive to use Ho-Oh.
>Dialga
Change Roar of Time so it has -7 priority and, in addition to its current effect, sets up Trick Room. Dialga would still have to recharge next turn, so it'd be vulnerable then, but Dialga would have the nice of having an untauntable, unimprisonable Trick Room. It'd still be vulnerable to getting doubled into during the turn it recharges or just having Trick Room reversed.
