Ash's just has a unique coloration. Another Gengar that appeared earlier in the series had the normal color scheme.

They did something similar with Ash's Meltan having a darker colored nut than the rest to distinguish it until they merged into Melmetal.

This, another Gengar shown in the second episode of the new series was colored normally. It's just Ash's that's a different color.
