I'd like to get some serious speculation going on about something that has been gnawing away at me since I saw it.
Pic related is the list of returning Pokemon we have. The lions share of this list is made up of Starters, Fossils and Legendaries. What do all those have in common? They're not found in the wild.
Now Given what we know about the Crown Tundra, the map size is going to be considerably larger than the Isle of Armor, so that begs the fucking question, why are there so few new returning Pokemon that will be roaming the new area?
Let's condense it even further -
Nido female
Nido Male
Zubat
Jynx
Electobuzz
Magmar
Dratini
Aron
Altaria
Absol
Spheal
Relicanth
Salamence
Metagross
Spiritomb
Garchomp
Audino
Cryognal
Carbink
These are the 19 Pokemon lines we have that will actually be immediately catchable. Does this not seem absolutely backwards to you guys? You make a massive new area and it's gonna have less regular Pokemon than the Isle of Armor, which was jam packed full of returning Pokemon.
I just think they could have still had the Crown Tundras primary focus be on legendaries while not having such a limited non-legendary roster, you know?
And while we're at it I just wanna touch on something else real quick.
All fossils are returning...besides the two Sinnoh fossil lines. Like...for what purpose? No, I'm not implying Sinnoh remakes, because something similar happens with the starters but even more absurd IMO.
Starters are some of the absolute most beloved Pokemon, it stands to reason that they would be a high priority of things to add and yet the only set of starters returning are apparently Hoenns? What the fuck? With Greninja being the most popular Pokemon of all time and all other starters in general being popular, you're seriously trying to tell me they aren't adding the rest?
The fuck is going on here?
