I've restricted my dupes a bit by immediately putting the new catch in the front slot to prevent exploitation by catching a bunch of shitmons earlier to skip them later. Basically if I catch it I have to use it. Also I repelled in the cave to get to the lower levels for a chance at Sableye or Aron and the game threw me Makushita as if to say fuck you so I'm avoiding exploitative shit in my future runs. Another thing was throwing Whismur at me in route 116 when it's guaranteed in the tunnel. I caught it out of spite and it got my fucking Slakoth down to red health in the process. The first groaner was killing Lotad with a critical and then immediately finding Ralts after. I almost quit the game.
