It's one thing to say "after x point I didn't like it anymore" or whatever, but to pretend it doesn't exist just comes off as stupid and immature, as if the person's more interested in preserving their personal worldview over acknowledging that things from their childhood will change over time and they can either like it or not like it.
With Pokemon specifically, you also miss out on seeing maybe if anything from 152 onward might actually be your new favorite Pokemon, and you're missing out because you'd rather be an elitist brat.
I personally didn't discover my favorite Pokemon until gen 7.
