Oh boy,this is going to trigger /vp/'s autism.
I played G/S at least 10 times each so going through HG/SS felt so tedious.Same thing with Platinum.I have played Diamond many times and going through Sinnoh AGAIN felt more like chore than an adventure(also the Distortion world was shit).I haven't played the Gen 3 games many times,so playing ORAS wasn't tedious for me.
tl;dr I have played the originals/first versions so many times that playing the remakes/third version felt uninteresting.That's not the case with ORAS though.
I have give credit to XY.For a game that is incomplete it is very
fun.At least in my opinion.
