I know this is practically pointless to say but gen 2 post-game/Kanto is so easy that it hurts. you could increase the level of every trainer (gym leaders included) by 10 and the gameplay would strictly improve. it makes no sense to go from defeating Lance (highest level 50) to 1-shotting cannon fodder whose levels barely exceed 30.
