>>16537556Prepare yourself mentally that you won't get a shiny in a 1000 eggs, that way you won't be too disappointed if it really is the case. If you would've had your shiny by 100 eggs you're considered pretty lucky.
I only bred eggs when I was watching movies/animes/whatever, so that I'm not entirely wasting my time.
Also, if you're gender specific, prepare yourself for a lot of disappointment too. I was lucky that the first Ralts I got (after 894 eggs) was female, but a lot of people breed dozens of boxes with 3 shinies without their desired gender.
