There's a grass trap, fire trap, and water trap. When used the opponent only sees "a trap has been set" but not which type one. They're all separate moves and when a an enemy switches in they trigger the trap, dealing like 60 one time damage of the type of trap it is. The general idea is to strategize as to what an opponent might switch in with, if you set a trap that's super effective it can be devastating, but a not very effective trap won't do much.
