Japan literally didn't give a fuck about the non-canon fanfiction leaks, only westoid zoomers did, and this game has been in development for longer than that shit was made public.
No fucking shit we're not getting Cyndaquil again after we just got him in PLA, but I honestly doubt they're giving Chikorita and Totodile Megas if they didn't actually showcase them having them. They'll end up like the Kalos starters and just get regional forms more than likely.
