>>37505363I think a fully realized Pokemon ARPG would be janky no matter how you spin it so instead I'd want it to play like a combination of Digimon World Next Order and Ni No Kuni. The mons would automatically perform generic neutral damaging attacks and their nature would determine things like their movement, whether they'll attack or defend more etc. Your input would be in the form of commanding the mon to perform skills, change stances, and/or get into more advantageous positions.
On an unrelated note, don't play Ni no kuni 2. Never play ni no kuni 2.
