The game is extremely okay, it's what you'd expect from game freaks first flailing at an HD game.
the dex cut really made everybody mad, every single corner cut and lazy bullshit problem is 1000 times worse when they claimed they cut pokemon because hey, we're trying to make this one good!!! It's deserved scrutiny when they start to take away the reason people go lenient on game freak in the first place, their attachment to the creatures.
They could have avoided 99% of the backlash with a simple as fuck statement of "hey we're planning on supporting more pokemon for transfer post release!"
