Most of the time I find a shiny it's always either a shitmon or well past the point where I'd like to add a new team member. I think the only time I ever found a shiny that I actually got to use on my team before was a shiny Makuhita out of Dewford Cave in Ruby many many years ago.
Makuhita has a pretty good shiny, it's a shame Hariyama's shiny is pretty unspectacular.
