Well things took a rough turn last night after I posted the first image.
Got through second gym in a snap, Frank and Kesha were MVP as water and ground types. But then everything took a dark turn.
Suddenly a double battle at foot of the cave before Shalour City, with a level 28 machoke and I think level 29 mr. mime at hand. nobody ever told me mr. mime's were crazy strong. He was OHKO'd poor Frank. When he didn't even have a negative nature towards special defense. I was shocked.
Machoke made quick work of poor Kesha. I overestimated poor little girl's defense. She fell to a single low sweep. Following my rules I reincarnated Frank, getting myself a Miltank. Molly grew to level 30 from 26 under my watch, but promptly died to... a wild Mr. Mime? I forgot. Mr. Mime's are on my list now, along with stupid Siglyphs. Frank's line ended with Molly's death.
Kesha's incarnate fared a bit better as a level 30 poliwag, which I promtply evolved next level and then evolved with a water stone I had on hand. Peter the Poliwrath was born.
I also recieved a Spinda through cave capture which I boxed, and a Foongus for route 12 capture, which I might stick with and train up to match the party. I mean I know I already have Risa who I plan to get a shiny stone for real soon, but I've never actually used a foongus unlike the others in my pc box, so I'm tempted. Double the poison can never hurt right?
Time of writing this it's time to learn some more of that mega evolution!
